Here are some of the questions I’m most frequently asked
How many sessions will I need and how much will it cost?
Human Givens therapy is a brief-therapy approach, typically taking six sessions, which means it’s affordable and not unduly time-consuming.
We will decide together at the end of each session whether, and if so how soon, you want to come back for another session. You will never be required to commit to a series of sessions.
The first session is up to 75 minutes in length and subsequent sessions 55 minutes.
The fee for each session is £58.
Where are you located and when can I see you?
My therapy rooms are located in Southend-on-Sea and I currently offer face-to-face sessions on Saturdays.
What if I need to change or cancel my session?
If you need to change or cancel your appointment please let me know as soon as possible. Sessions can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance without charge; after this time the full session fee will normally be payable.
How does Human Givens therapy differ from other forms of therapy?
Human givens therapy focusses on making positive change quickly. I’ll take time to listen and to understand your emotions, but we won’t dwell on them, because it’s not necessary to feel worse before you can feel better.
We’ll use a tailored, flexible approach specific to you and your circumstances, and benefit from a combination of powerful, proven therapeutic techniques including psycho-education, the most helpful elements of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), relaxation, mindfulness and guided imagery, all backed up by the latest psychological knowledge.
This means you can quickly begin to challenge negative thoughts, use you imagination in a positive way, start to see things differently and regain a sense of control; so that you can sleep better, be more energised and motivated, feel better able to be there for your partner or family, and improve your effectiveness at work and relationships with colleagues.
We’ll also rehearse success so that you leave each session fully equipped to start making positive change in your real life.
